Fleming Co-Sponsors Pro-Israel Legislation

Statement

Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement after co-sponsoring H. Con. Res 62, a resolution expressing Congressional support that the American embassy should be relocated to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.

"I fully support this resolution to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's true capital. The fact that the 1995 Jerusalem Embassy Act has yet to be implemented by a president is unacceptable. U.S diplomatic policy is nearly universal that American embassies are located in a country's capital, with the exception Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East. It's time we moved our embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem and remained consistent in our treatment of embassies."
