Polis: Student Success Act Fails Our Schools

Statement

"We need a bill that relieves schools from the burden of overtesting and a system that forces them to move from waiver to waiver, both results of the outdated No Child Left Behind policies," Rep. Polis said. "It is crucial to have smart accountability measures that serve the best interests of all students. Most importantly, we need a bill that upholds the original intent of ESEA as a crucial piece of civil rights legislation; a bill that gives every child the world-class education they deserve, regardless of their zip code, race, background, or socio-economic class."
