Whitfield and DeGette Introduce Legislation to Improve the Lives of Diabetics

U.S. Representatives Ed Whitfield (R-KY-01) and Diana DeGette (D-CO-01), Co-chairs of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, recently introduced H.R. 1726, the Access to Quality Diabetes Education Act of 2015, and H.R. 1727, the Medicare Safe Needle Disposal Coverage Act of 2015, and H.R. 1686, The Preventing Diabetes in Medicare Act, to improve the lives of people with diabetes and pre-diabetes.

Representative Ed Whitfield:

"Kentucky continues to rank in the top 10 every year in terms of number of diagnosed cases of diabetes, and I am concerned about the serious public health threat this disease poses to our communities across the Commonwealth," said Whitfield. "As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, I am proud to introduce these three bills with Representative Diana DeGette that will help diabetics better manage this disease and avoid costly medical complications."
