Menendez, Booker Announce Nearly $350K for NJ Fire Departments

U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-N.J.) today announced $345,787 in federal Assistance to Firefighter grants (AFG) to improve safety and operations in northern Hudson County, Hamilton Twp., Lakehurst, Milton and Delran. The AFG program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

"I am proud to announce these grants that will allow our fire departments to operate more efficiently and keep both our firefighters and residents as safe as possible," said Sen. Menendez. "We must do everything we can to ensure our first responders have the tools necessary to protect our communities on a daily basis."

"Without hesitating, New Jersey firefighters put their own lives on the line to save others," said Sen. Booker. "Our firefighters deserve the best equipment available to save lives, protect themselves and help New Jerseyans. That is why Sen. Menendez and I continue to advocate for grants like this one.
