Rep. Bost Applauds Union Pacific's Investment in Southern Illinois Rail

Today, Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) applauded Union Pacific Railroad's investment of more than $20 million in the rail line between Chester and the Illinois/Missouri border. The privately-funded project will be completed by mid-October.

"Union Pacific's investment of millions of dollars in this important railway project shows the commitment the company has to meeting the transportation needs of Southern Illinois," said Rep. Bost. "Not only will this project spur economic growth in the region, it will help enhance safety, reduce motorist wait times at crossings and improve railway operating efficiency. Just as importantly, it accomplishes these goals without using any taxpayer money."
