Rokita Appointed to Budget Conference Committee

Press Release

Date: April 14, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Todd Rokita, Vice Chair of the House Budget Committee, was appointed by the Speaker to a Senate-House conference committee today, which is tasked with producing a unified 2016 budget resolution. Rep. Rokita released the following statement after his announced appointment.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue leading the charge for a balanced federal budget. As the House begins working with our Senate colleagues, I am confident we can iron out our differences and produce a unified budget that will provide greater certainty and accountability for the future."

The Senate and House passed individual 2016 budget resolutions last month. The appointed conference committee will work to resolve the differences between the two pieces of legislation, which will result in a joint concurrent budget resolution, setting top-line federal spending levels for 2016.
