Rep. Rokita, House Budget Committee Unveil FY16 Budget Plan: A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America

Representative Todd Rokita, Vice Chair of the House Budget Committee, joined his fellow committee members in introducing a budget resolution for Fiscal Year 2016 this morning. The budget resolution, entitled A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America, reduces spending by $5.5 trillion, without tax increases.

"This budget plan will balance the budget in less than ten years. That's faster than any of the recent House Republican budgets. This plan stands in contrast to the President's budget, which never balances -- ever. This budget is crucial to giving individuals, families, and job creators greater certainty for the future. It shows the American people that we are ready to make the tough decisions and hold government accountable for how it spends hard-earned tax dollars."

Like previous House budget resolutions, this budget includes significant reforms in federal spending, including auto-pilot spending programs like Medicare and Medicaid. For the fourth year in a row, Rep. Rokita's Medicaid state flexibility proposal is included in the budget. This budget also repeals ObamaCare in its entirety, saving $2 trillion.
