Stutzman Statement on "Net Neutrality"

Statement

Date: Feb. 26, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued this statement after the Federal Communications Commission voted to impose new "Net Neutrality" regulations.

"I am very disappointed by today's 3-2 decision by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to apply new rules and regulations to the Internet known as "Net Neutrality." Taking steps to control and regulate the Internet is a dangerous precedent that I completely oppose. This process has lacked the openness and transparency that Americans rightly expect from their government and goes to represent the flawed nature of these proposals."

"As we have seen in the past, growing the size and influence of the federal government consistently stifles investment, innovation, and the economy and consumers will suffer the consequences. Going forward I will work with my colleagues to fight this decision and lessen the negative impact it will have on the American people."
