Stutzman Statement on Iran Nuclear Agreement

Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) issued the following statement after the Obama administration announced a final agreement in nuclear negotiations with Iran:

"Today the Obama administration is asking us to trust one of our nation's most dangerous foes -- Iran. Iran continues to be the lead sponsor of terrorism in the world and relieving sanctions would provide the Tehran regime with funds that would create an even more dangerous threat to the United States and its allies.

I am disappointed the president has put us in a position in which Iran will still be allowed to enrich uranium. We know from past experiences that Iran has ignored previous agreements to curtail its nuclear program; compounded with the administration's poor record to implement, be held accountable, and follow through with policies makes me incredibly uneasy.

I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to determine what this deal buys us and at what cost while finding a resolution that protects the United States of America."
