Cramer Welcomes Congressional Art Competition Winner Emery Dobitz to Washington DC

This week, Congressman Kevin Cramer welcomed the North Dakota winner of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition, Emery Dobitz, to Washington, D.C. for the unveiling of her painting in the U.S. Capitol Building. Dobitz, will be a senior this fall at Killdeer Public School, submitted her entry to the North Dakota Juried Student Art Show at the Taube Museum of Art in Minot. It was chosen by professional artists to represent the state of North Dakota in the nation's capital. Emery's parents, Jennifer and Louis Dobitz, as well as her art teacher at Killdeer Public School, Cherie Roshau, joined her in Washington DC this week.

The acrylic painting entry titled "Beautiful Buffalo" will now be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for the next year.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase Emery's artistic talent on a national level. Her piece now hangs in the United States Capitol for the next year where thousands of visitors and tourists from around the world will see her incredible gift on display every day. Several of my colleagues have already commented to me how impressive Emory's painting is," said Cramer.
