I oppose amnesty. We must secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws. Those who want to come to the United States must do so through proper, legal channels.

I introduced legislation with Senator Vitter to stop the increasing number of unaccompanied illegal children (UAC) from entering the U.S. Specifically, it requires the mandatory detention of all UAC, gives them the option to voluntarily depart, places those who refuse in a streamlined removal process while being held at the border, and ensures that all UAC who don't have an asylum claim are given a final removal order and placed on the next available flight to their home country within 72 hours of the initial screening.

I am also a member of Senate Border Security and Enforcement First Caucus.
