Statement

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you after a weekend filled with family and friends. Before this week gets underway, a couple of highlights from the week that was:

Putting Wisconsin Jobs First: On Friday, the House of Representatives again voted to give the President, and our country's top trade experts, the ability to negotiate a trade deal with our Pacific partners. Within this authority, Congress gives them more than 100 points they must hit in order to get a deal that we and the American people can support. If they do not negotiate in good faith, Congress has the ability to retract that authority. Once a proposal is reached, you and I will have sixty days to review it. If it is not good for Wisconsin, it will not get my vote. However, it if is, that will mean that we have put ourselves in the position to lead globally and that means good things for our Wisconsin industries, like dairy, cranberries and forestry, and the hard working people who work in them. I spoke about Thursday's vote with Trish Regan on Fox Business.
