Durbin Meets With Leaders From McLean County In Washington

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today met with members of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce to discuss local transportation and economic development priorities.

"Last night, the House of Representatives passed a spending bill that slashed funding for critical transportation programs like the TIGER Grant Program. The business and community leaders I met with today from McLean County know firsthand how important that funding is; Normal was the very first community in the entire country to break ground on a project using a grant from the TIGER Program," Durbin said. "The McLean County Chamber of Commerce serves as an important local voice for the business and community interests of the entire region. I will continue to work with them on efforts to support projects like the Normal multimodal center that create jobs and spur local economic development."
