Senator Schatz is honored to have been endorsed by President Obama and other leading Democrats.

When President Barack Obama endorsed Senator Schatz he said, "Senator Schatz is protecting Hawaii's values and fighting every day on behalf of middle-class families. There is no question that Senator Schatz is the right choice to continue delivering for Hawaii."

Senator Schatz was among the earliest supporters of Hawai"i-born Barack Obama's run for President. In 2006, he helped start the Hawai"i Draft Obama campaign, ultimately becoming the Hawai"i spokesperson for Obama for America in 2008.

Senator Schatz's long-standing working relationship with the Obama Administration and with leaders of the U.S. Senate help him to be a strong advocate for the federal support and funding needed for many programs vital to Hawai"i's future. His work in the Senate has earned him the endorsement of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, and other Democratic leaders.
