Cramer: House Calls on Iran to Release American Hostages

Press Release

Date: June 15, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Kevin Cramer announced the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved House Resolution 233, a resolution expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Iran should immediately release the three United States citizens that it holds, as well as provide all known information on any United States citizens that have disappeared within its borders. Congressman Cramer is a cosponsor of this legislation. In 2009 journalist Roxana Saberi from Fargo, ND was arrested and detained in Iran for 101 days under suspicion of committing espionage.

"An important prerequisite for any potential nuclear agreement with Iran must be the release of all Americans being unfairly detained as well as a full accounting of any American missing in the country. We owe it to the loved ones of these Americans to do everything we can to bring them home as soon as possible," said Cramer.
