Cramer: House Passes H.R. 2685 the 2016 Department of Defense Appropriations Act

Date: June 11, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Kevin Cramer joined a majority of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass H.R. 2685, the 2016 Department of Defense Appropriations Act. The bill ensures our troops have the tools they need, includes a 2.3% pay raise for the military, and provides the resources necessary to keep our country safe and deter our enemies.

"As our nation faces increased threats from radical Islamic terrorists, a more belligerent Russia and an increasingly bolder China, this bill ensures the United States Armed Forces remain the best equipped and best trained military in the world. North Dakota retains a prominent role in defending our freedoms with continued support of the Air Force Bases in Minot and Grand Forks as well as our state's Air and Army National Guard. We must remember the strength of our military is not in our advanced weaponry but in the brave men and women who volunteer to defend our freedoms on a daily basis. Our commitment to them and their families must be when they are called into battle they have every resource and tool they need to accomplish their mission and come home safely, " said Cramer.
