My Week in Connecticut

Statement

Dear Friends,

Last week, I had a very productive time home in the Fourth District, which included celebrating National Small Business Week with a visit to three locally owned businesses in Westport, announcing two new federal grants and meeting with teachers and their students during Teacher Appreciation Week. I also held two Town Hall meetings in Fairfield and Greenwich to meet folks in person and listen to their ideas and concerns.

Being able to have face-to-face discussions about the issues many of you and your neighbors find most pressing, like tackling our transportation needs and creating jobs in our state, is one of the best parts of my job. As your Representative in Congress, I benefit immensely from these interactions. It is inspiring and encouraging to hear from the small business owners and employees, who now make up half of our nation's workforce and see students of all ages excelling in our educational programs.
