Statement from Governor Hassan on Signing HB 354

Statement

Date: June 8, 2015
Location: Concord, NH

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing HB 354, relative to the closing of clam, oyster, and other bivalve areas for restoration:

"The Great Bay is one of our state's natural treasures, critical to our economy and our high quality of life, and we must do everything that we can to protect its magnificent yet fragile ecosystem. House Bill 354 is a bipartisan measure that will help strengthen our restoration efforts in the Great Bay, ensuring the sustainability of shellfish restoration projects and the ecological and water-quality benefits that they provide. I applaud Representative Schroadter, the Seacoast delegation and all of the legislators who supported this bill, and I am proud to build on our efforts to protect the Great Bay by signing this bipartisan measure into law."
