U.S. Representatives Sean Duffy (WI-07) and Derek Kilmer (WA-06) launched the Hospitality Caucus today. The goal of the caucus is to provide a better understanding of the challenges faced by the American hospitality industry. Additionally, the caucus will give the industry the recognition it deserves for the steps it has taken to promote responsible consumption as well as the impact it has had on our local economies.
Rep. Duffy offered, "Whether in January or July, fishing from the side of a boat or a hole in the ice, Wisconsin has something for everyone and the hardworking people who make up our hospitality industry are central to our culture and our local economy. This caucus celebrates this industry, and the impact it has on each of our districts, but also serves as a resource to help work through burdensome regulations."
Rep. Kilmer continued, "Whether you are meeting an old friend, joining with coworkers, or visiting from out of town, folks are flocking to the growing constellation of breweries, craft distilleries, and wineries you'll find in the Pacific Northwest. Every day entrepreneurs are developing new recipes and creating jobs in our region. This caucus will highlight how the hospitality industry brings people together and keeps our economy moving."
The caucus will focus on:
· The positive impact of the American hospitality industry on the United States economy
· The importance of a well-regulated marketplace
· The industry's commitment to ensuring responsible marketing, advertising, distribution and sales of adult beverage products.
