Titus Calls for End to Family Detention

Statement

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First District joined 132 colleagues in sending a letter today to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson calling for an end to family detention.

"It is critical that we ensure that families are not facing adverse conditions while in detention," said Titus. "This type of detention can have long lasting, negative impacts on both mothers and young children. While we await the passage of comprehensive immigration reform, we must do all we can to protect and provide for these vulnerable members of society."
