This week I proudly joined North Texans and Americans across the country in honoring the brave men and women who have selflessly sacrificed their lives to protect our great nation and the freedoms that we hold near and dear to our hearts. To honor and celebrate the lives of our nation's fallen soldiers, I was honored to participate in multiple Memorial Day events in North Texas including the Carry the Load Memorial Day National Relay, Spring Creek Memorial Day Parade, and the Restland Memorial Day Service. I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Restland Cemetary Garden of Honor Dedication ceremony to honor our fallen Dallas Police Department Officers, Patrick L. Metzler, Brian H. Jackson, Victor Lozada, Sr., Norman S. Smith, and Lancaster Police Department's Craig L. Shaw. Our police officers bravely put their lives on the line to keep our families and communities safe and I would like to extend my deep appreciation to each and every officer and their families.
Meetings Around the District
Service King Visit
On Tuesday I had the opportunity to visit Service King in Dallas and meet with the CEO, Chris Abraham and other executives. Service King Collision Centers have served the Dallas community since 1976 and the company has grown to become a leader in the collision repair industry. I enjoyed touring their landmark facility and discussing how private equity helps move our economy forward.

ZTE USA Headquarters
Thursday afternoon I was delighted to tour the ZTE headquarters in Dallas with Lixin Cheng, the CEO of ZTE USA. ZTE USA is a telecommunications company that provides customized, affordable products for consumers in North Texas and across the nation. After our tour, I was pleased to participate in an employee town hall where I discussed issues facing the telecommunications industry, my work to combat patent trolls, as well as my continued efforts to increase opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Decision
Since the President has announced his plans to unlawfully implement his executive amnesty plan, I have vigorously fought to stop his lawless actions. This week, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals took another step forward in our fight against the President's unlawful amnesty plan. I am pleased that the Fifth Circuit upheld its constitutional role in protecting our nation's rule of law by denying a motion by the Obama Administration to overturn an injunction by Judge Andrew Hanen that blocked the President's amnesty plan. This ruling means that the President cannot enforce his DAPA policy, and no funds can be used to further this part of his executive amnesty agenda.
I applaud the court's ruling and I remain committed to fighting against the President's unwise, unlawful, and unconstitutional executive amnesty plan. It is imperative that we maintain and protect our nation's rule of law while this issue continues to move through the judicial process.
