Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today issued the following statement on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address before a Joint Meeting of Congress:
"Israel is resolute in their support of democracy and is the United States' best and closest ally in the Middle East. Prime Minister Netanyahu honored his commitment to the US and freedom when he accepted Speaker Boehner's invitation to speak before a joint session of Congress.
"The Prime Minister delivered an affirmative message regarding the importance of the relationship between the US and Israel and its affect on not only the Middle East, but the entire world. It is critical that we strengthen that relationship and work towards our shared security goals. Most significantly, we must work in unison to place well-defined economic and political pressure on Iran and make it clear that the United States will never tolerate a nuclear-equipped Iran. As details of the nuclear agreement with Iran come to light, we must remain vigilant to ensure that Iran is forced to abandon its attempts to build a nuclear weapon."
