Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement in calling on President Obama to sign S. 1, the Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act, which has passed the House and Senate with bipartisan support. The legislation now heads to the President's desk.

"Even in the face of a veto threat, I joined my House colleagues once again, for the 11th time, in voting for and passing a Keystone Pipeline bill. Mr. President, listen to the American people; listen to your own party; stop catering to special interests and putting our country's energy security at risk.

"We are calling on the President to do the right thing and join Congress in approving the Keystone pipeline, which holds the potential to lower energy costs for hardworking Americans and boost our economy by creating over 40,000 jobs. The American people have demonstrated time and time again that they are ready for the Keystone pipeline. Mr. President, here's your chance to create true shovel-ready jobs. It's time to build."
