Blackburn Sworn In to 114th Congress

Statement

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) today was sworn in to the 114th Congress, beginning her seventh term representing Tennessee's 7th Congressional District.

"During the last Congress, I led the fight in the House to pass conservative bills that offered real solutions to the challenges we face as a nation. Now we have a Republican Senate to join us in this endeavor. Conservatives have a real opportunity here to affect change in Washington. In order to accomplish conservative goals, we must now be united in the fight against Barack Obama and his failed policies.

"It is a privilege to once again represent the people of Tennessee's 7th District in the 114th Congress. I hear on a daily basis from constituents who have grown tired of Washington bureaucrats meddling in their lives. I share their frustration and look forward to getting to work on solutions that will help get the federal government off the backs and out of the pockets of the American people."

During the 114th Congress, Blackburn will continue to serve as Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and as a member of the House Budget Committee.
