Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) recognizes Mississippi's first-ever female African-American News Director.

Pam Chatman was placed in the Congressional Record by United States Congressman Bennie G. Thompson in recognition of her being Mississippi's first-ever female African-American News Director. Pam was raised up in Choctaw, Mississippi, a small rural community outside Shaw city limits that sits in the heart of Bolivar County. She leads a winning news team, and is a tireless community volunteer and advocate for teens and young women. She's also a motivational speaker, teaching women of all ages to accept and appreciate their uniqueness within the human race.
