Barrasso Welcomes Permit for LNG Export Facility in Maryland

Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement regarding the Department of Energy's authorization of Dominion Cove Point LNG to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States:

"The dramatic rise in America's trade deficit and weak economic growth is another reminder of why federal agencies must pick up the pace on permitting liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. LNG exports will help grow America's economy, create good-paying jobs at home, and strengthen the energy security of key U.S. allies. I applaud the Administration's decision giving communities along the Gulf Coast and East Coast the opportunity to export LNG. Now the Administration must quickly deliver the same economic opportunities to communities in the West. It's time for the Administration to complete the permitting process for the Jordan Cove LNG export facility."
