"The House Democratic Budget is focused on the priorities of the American people -- boosting the economy to create more broadly shared prosperity, making critical investments in our future, and keeping our promises to seniors.

"This Economic Opportunity for Americans Working Hard to Get Ahead Budget achieves bigger paychecks through tax policies that help the middle class and those working their way into the middle class. It makes key investments in our national infrastructure and creates good-paying jobs here in America. It makes needed investments in our future -- to create jobs for those still seeking work, to educate our children and prepare them for success, and to sharpen the nation's competitive edge. And it accomplishes these goals while putting the federal budget on a fiscally responsible path, with debt declining as a share of the economy.

Where they squeeze American families and green-light the Romney-Ryan tax cuts for the wealthy, our budget provides tax relief for hard-working Americans and closes special interest loopholes.
