Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Energy and Water Subcommittee, was on hand with officials from the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge today to mark Earth Week by inaugurating the first-ever electric vehicle power station within the National Wildlife Refuge System. The charging station is powered entirely by solar power and is the only charging station between Lorain and Toledo, Ohio.
"This investment by the Wildlife Refuge System is forward thinking at its finest," said Rep. Kaptur. "The officials at the Ottawa Wildlife Refuge are looking to the future and adapting. Their efforts here can serve as a model for our entire national park system, making investments in alternative energy that will be not only an environmental asset but also an economic one."
