In case you missed it, earlier today the U.S. Conference of Mayors called on Congress to stop putting the Department of Homeland Security at risk of a shutdown and instead pass a "clean" bill funding the agency through the end of the fiscal year

"The mayors are right -- we cannot afford the consequences of shutting down the Department of Homeland Security," said Senator Shaheen. "The Department of Homeland Security plays a critical role in keeping our communities safe on a day to day basis. We need to pass a clean bill funding the agency's operations immediately."
