Sens. Menendez, Booker Announce Over $895K for Homeless Veterans in NJ

U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced $895,821 in federal funding to help homeless veterans in New Jersey find supportive services and a place to call home. The grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program.

"No one who has served our nation should find themselves living on the streets," said Sen. Menendez. "I've said many times that a grateful nation not only goes to a Veterans' Day or Memorial Day observance, but shows its gratitude in the opportunities, services, and benefits we provide to our veterans. I applaud this funding because it helps ensure vets in New Jersey will receive the shelter, services, and support they need and deserve."

"There are few better ways to honor the brave servicemen and women who put their lives on the line for our freedoms than to direct federal resources to end veteran homelessness," said Sen. Booker. "We are all deeply indebted to our heroes in uniform and it's our duty and obligation to ensure they have a place to call home. This funding is essential to helping us support New Jersey's homeless veterans."
