U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee's Subcommittee on International Trade, Customs, and Global Competitiveness, issued the following statement on bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority legislation introduced by U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) today:

"With so much of the world's purchasing power located beyond our nation's borders, improving access to new consumers and markets for America's farmers, ranchers and manufacturers must be a top priority. I am encouraged by today's bipartisan cooperation on this issue and look forward to working with Senators from both parties to improve opportunities to boost trade and grow our economy."
