U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement regarding the announcement of B. Don Burman as the new Director of the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS), also known as the Omaha VA Hospital:
"I am pleased to learn that the Department of Veterans Affairs has chosen B. Don Burman as the new Director of the Omaha VA Hospital. Ensuring that our veterans receive the finest medical care has always been a top priority. As a military veteran, Mr. Burman brings to this position a solid background, along with many years of experience in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
"I am looking forward to working with him as the VA continues to upgrade the aging Omaha facility. Finally I would also like to thank Eileen Kingston for her steady hand as acting director for the past six months. We have many problems that need to be solved and I am confident that our VA system is now in better hands to address them."
