Lujan Grisham Supports Permanent Medicare Doc Fix; Health Insurance for Children

Statement

Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham voted today in support of a bipartisan health care package that reforms the way physicians are paid to provide services to Medicare patients, while extending coverage to children.

"Seniors and their doctors have waited far too long for a payment system that rewards quality and compensates providers at a consistent, reasonable level," Rep. Lujan Grisham said. "I am proud to support a bipartisan compromise that ensures seniors will continue to have access to the doctors they know and trust."

"Just as important, we are helping low-income seniors pay their Medicare Part-B premiums; investing in training more nurses and physicians; extending health insurance for children; and paying for community health centers. This is not a perfect bill, but I believe it represents a great step forward for seniors, children, and our health care system as a whole," Rep. Lujan Grisham said.
