Sens. Menendez, Booker Announce Over $12 Million on Head Start Funding for NJ

U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $12,417,597.00 in federal funding to strengthen Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Bergen, Essex, and Cumberland counties.

"There is no better investment for our children than in early childhood development and education programs," said Senator Menendez. "This funding ensures New Jersey families have access to vital support services and that our children are put on the right path to success. That's why I will continue fighting to fund Head Start programs across our state to make certain every child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential."

"When we fail to invest early in our children's success, we not only fail to enable them to live up to their fullest potential but fail to live up to our potential as a nation. That is why funding for quality early education programs is so critical," said Sen. Booker. "These grants will provide the resources needed to ensure that we are empowering our kids while creating foundations for a better future for New Jersey and for our country."
