Menendez, Booker Announce over $8M in Federal Funding for Sandy Recovery

U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the awarding of a combined $8,147,707 in federal Sandy relief grants through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance grant program for cleanup, repair, and restoration costs in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.

"As New Jersey continues to work towards full recovery, there's much work left to do to make our state more resilient," said Senator Menendez. "From rebuilding bridges to repairing damaged lighthouses, today's federal funding announcement allows us to take another important step forward in our efforts to make New Jersey stronger than before the storm."

"The road to recovery has been a long one for communities affected by Superstorm Sandy," said Senator Booker. " I am pleased that this funding will offer a measure of relief to restore critical public documents that were damaged in Jersey City, replace the Bray Avenue Bridge in Middletown, and repair our historic Romer Shoal Lighthouse. I will continue to work to make New Jersey more resilient to future disasters."
