Bennet: Not the Time for Politics on Homeland Security Funding

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on funding for the Department of Homeland Security:

"This is no way to govern. When there are real threats to our country from around the world, Congress should not be playing politics with this funding.

"We welcome a discussion about fixing our broken immigration system. The Senate had one in the last Congress, and we passed a comprehensive bill with strong bipartisan support. Unfortunately, we were left at the altar by the House of Representatives, which has still not taken up a serious bill on immigration."
