On Wednesday, Governor Jerry Brown ordered the California Water Resources Control Board to implement mandatory restrictions on residents, businesses, farms, as well as entire cities and towns.

Following his announcement, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) released the following statement:

"California's 21st Congressional District has been hit especially hard by the lack of rainfall and burdensome federal regulations that limit water deliveries to the Central Valley. While conserving water is important, it does not provide a long-term solution for California's water problems."

"Central Valley farmers have been utilizing world-renown water efficiency strategies for decades. These mandatory conservation efforts alone cannot provide our agriculturally rich region with the water resources it so desperately needs."
