Hardy-Gosar Spearhead Bipartisan I-11 Expansion, Facilitate International Trade Corridor

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after joining Congressman Cresent Hardy (NV-04) in introducing the Intermountain West Corridor Development Act of 2015, H.R. 1612:

"With an additional 32 million people expected to be added to the population by 2030, the Intermountain region, which includes Arizona and Nevada, has established itself to be the fastest growing area in the entire country. In order for western states and communities to capitalize on this promising new growth, we must have timely and efficient infrastructure.

"Connecting American businesses and communities to a fully integrated international transportation system will create jobs and provide an economic boon to the West. Furthermore, the success of this powerful corridor will strengthen the invaluable relationship between Nevada and Arizona for many years to come."

Congressman Cresent Hardy (NV-04) added, "An expansion of I-11 will serve as a strategic boost to our economy and Nevada's long-term viability, enabling better collaboration with a more diverse array of trade partners.

"As a result of this bill, Nevada communities and businesses will reap the benefits of increased tourism, commerce and transportation made possible by better connectivity across the region. This effort is as important as anything to our economic stability and growth as a state."

Congressman Hardy is the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure's Subcommittee on Highways and Transit and Congressman Gosar is the co-chair of the I-11 caucus.
