Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Statement On ISIS Capturing of Assyrian Christians

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today issued the following statement about ISIS' reported capturing of Assyrian Christians:

"As the monstrous terrorism of ISIS continues, their recent house-to-house raids in northeastern Syria demonstrate that these Islamist extremists are increasingly focusing their terror on Christians in the region. As we join with the families of those kidnapped in prayer for the well-being of their loved ones, the United States must commit to a coherent strategy to stop in its tracks the spread of terror by ISIS and other Islamist extremist organizations. The US must arm the Peshmerga Kurds and in every other way possible support Kurdish and other fighters on the ground who are willing and able to fight ISIS. In addition, it is imperative that we work with Muslim partners in the region to help rescue those who have been kidnapped and support the military action necessary to destroy ISIS."
