Statement

Date: March 21, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on the attack yesterday on Transportation Security Officers at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport by a man armed with a machete, Molotov cocktails and smoke bombs:

Chairman McCaul: "The shocking attack on TSA officers at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport demonstrates, once again, just how vulnerable the public side of an airport can be to those with malicious intent and we must remain vigilant. I commend the Transportation Security Officers and local law enforcement for their quick response and bravery. Their immediate actions to subdue the attacker undoubtedly saved lives.
