Today, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on the cyber breach at Premera Blue Cross, an insurance plan provider:
Chairman McCaul: "Once again a cyber breach has compromised individuals' most personal information, including the exposure of the health records of up to 11 million Americans. This breach underscores the urgent need to move forward with legislation that removes legal barriers for cyber threat information sharing. Better information sharing will improve the private sector's ability to safeguard our personal data and keep hackers outside of our digital health records."
