Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) today issued the following statement regarding President Obama's announcement of changes in U.S. policy toward Cuba:

"While I am pleased Mr. Gross has been returned to his family, the President's unilateral action has sent a dangerous message to the rest of the world that America will concede our principles," said Latta. "By reversing 50 years of foreign policy in just one day, the President has made it more dangerous for Americans and weakened the United States' standing. This reckless action will only embolden the Castro regime and place freedom and democracy farther out of reach for Cuba."
