Beatty Statement on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's Speech Before Joint Session of Congress

Statement

Date: March 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement on Israeli Prime Minster Netanyahu's speech before a joint session of Congress:

"The United States and Israel have a long-standing relationship and I have proudly supported Israel's security, economy, and culture. While I wish the protocol to have Prime Minister Netanyahu address a joint session of Congress would have been different, it is important that we engage with our allies.

I attended today's speech, as many of my constituents requested, to remain informed about the challenges in the Middle East. As the Prime Minister stated, a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable, and Congress and the President have always acted to ensure a nuclear armed Iran does not become a reality. I will continue to work with Congress, President Obama, and Israel to eradicate threats abroad."
