Location: Washington, DC

Ahead of today's hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement upon receiving support from 184 human rights organizations across America for the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, bipartisan legislation he has introduced with Sens. Ron Wyden (D-OR), Mark Kirk (R-IL), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).

"Human trafficking has long been a scourge on our society, and we must do everything in our power to abolish it. I thank this coalition for their support for this effort to help law enforcement target perpetrators, rescue victims, and ensure survivors a fresh start. Together, we can provide hope and opportunity to everyone suffering in the shadows of modern day slavery."
