Rep. Jared Huffman Sworn in as Member of 114th Congress

Press Release

Date: Jan. 6, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) was sworn in Tuesday as the representative in the U.S. House of Representatives for California's 2nd Congressional District in the 114th Congress.

The 2nd District stretches along the California coast from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border and includes all or parts of Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Humboldt Del Norte, and Trinity Counties.

"I want to express my thanks for the great honor of representing California's beautiful 2nd Congressional District in the House of Representatives," Huffman said.

"Like many of my constituents, I was disappointed that the 113th Congress turned out to be far less productive than it should have been. There was too much partisan political theater and obstruction, and not enough good faith efforts to solve problems. But even with these challenges, I'm proud of some major accomplishments we achieved together in my freshman term.

"I'll never give up on making Congress work better, and 113th Congress left plenty of room for improvement. The new Congress is an opportunity to do better, and I will do everything I can toward that end."
