Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on Dr. Keith Hall being named the new Director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO):

"I want to congratulate Keith Hall as the new Director of the Congressional Budget Office and thank outgoing Director Doug Elmendorf for his exceptional service. For 40 years, CBO has played an instrumental role in shaping public policy by providing Congress and the American people with the information needed to make informed decisions about budgetary legislation. On a daily basis, Congress relies on CBO for non-partisan, unbiased economic and budgetary analysis. I hope that Director Hall will continue that tradition of independent and professional leadership."
