Rep. Gosar Applauds Senate Re-introduction of Bill to Combat ISIS Terrorists

Statement

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and 8 of his colleagues re-introduced the Senate companion version of H.R. 751, the Bringing Terrorists to Justice Act--a bill Congressman Gosar has introduced in the House. This legislation would amend the State Department's Rewards for Justice Program to require the Secretary of State to offer up to $5,000,000 in cash to individuals who provide information leading to the arrest or conviction of any person involved with the kidnapping and murder of American citizens:

"I am encouraged to see the Senate again show bipartisan support for this commonsense legislation to fight back against ISIS and other subhuman terrorist groups who kidnap and murder innocent Americans.

"My hometown community of Prescott, Arizona, and the rest of the nation, is still mourning the death of Kayla Mueller who was kidnapped and killed by ISIS while serving as a humanitarian aid worker in Turkey. Over the past year, we have witnessed these monsters use whatever despicable means necessary to inflict as much harm on American civilians as possible.

"In response, we must continue to improve our strategic efforts and utilize a variety of resources to stay one step ahead of our enemies and protect American lives abroad. This legislation puts pressure on terrorists groups by incentivizing any person--whether living in a terrorist cell or being oppressed by one--to turn over critical information to American intelligence officials. Ultimately, this will greatly assist the U.S. in bringing these cowards to justice."
