Murray Cosponsors Resolution Commemorating Black History Month

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), along with a bipartisan group of Senate colleagues, sponsored a resolution commemorating Black History Month. Senate Resolution 84 recognizes the contributions African Americans have made in education, politics, arts, sports, literature, science, and technology in the face of centuries of racial discrimination.

"I am proud to support this resolution commemorating Black History Month and highlighting the invaluable contributions of African Americans to Washington state and the United States of America throughout our history," said Senator Patty Murray. "Our country is strongest when all people are treated fairly and equitably, whether in our school system, our health care system, or our justice system--and Black History Month is a time to take that goal to heart and double down on our work to achieve it."
