House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the below statement following House passage of S.1, the Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act.

"From Day One of America's New Congress, the House has been focused on creating jobs and fighting for the priorities of the American people," Rep. Scalise said. "Today's action in the House continues that work as we send legislation authorizing construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to the president's desk. The American people have waited far too long for this critical infrastructure project. I urge President Obama to drop his veto threat and quickly sign this much-needed legislation that will create over 40,000 good-paying American jobs and increase our energy security."
