House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) today issued the below statement following House passage of H.R. 1020, the STEM Education Act of 2015.
"Since the founding of our nation, our strength has always come from innovation and American ingenuity," Rep. Scalise said. "Our continued success as a leading innovator in the global economy depends on a 21st century education, beginning with a strong foundation in science, engineering, technology, mathematics and the computer sciences. With these skills, we are arming future generations of American leaders with the tools they need to grow a healthy economy that will continue to set the global standard in thinking and innovation."
